Technology Name:
Androids
Tech Development Date:
~2260~
Tech Description:
Whilst Androids were worked on way back in 2005 on Earth, the completed, fully working and flawless versions were created only when intergalactic exploration became possible. Humans met new civilizations and races, with those - new technology and possibilites. They cooperated with various other species and finally created the first androids.
Androids may vary, but the common thing is that they're all humanoids. Two arms, two legs, torso and head. They are visibly robotic, though. They are built for the sole purpose of making social and private lives easier, like house keeping, child care or bartending. Their physical strength is a little bit bigger than of the average human's, but not too much, thus they are not a perfect replacer for heavy-physical workers. It's impossible for androids to think for themselves and being autonomous. They are programmed to do their jobs, they sometimes may seem thinking and feeling, but it's just not possible. They do not feel pain or any emotions. There's no possibility of androids developing emotions, or being programmed to feel.
They are mostly created in high-end facilities and factories, but sometimes, someone skilled (or not) enough makes an inferior and buggier makeshift android. This would be illegal to do without a permit.
Tech Examples:
Image (Second Generation Synths - Fallout 4)
Image (I, Robot)
Image - Crude android (Star Wars - Assassin Droid)
Tech Rarity/Cost:
The typical androids made in factories would be expensive - ranging in between thousands of credits - and would be present only in places that could afford it. The illegal ones' prices would depends on the seller.
[Race]
Race Name:
They describe themselves as "SAI", but people commonly call them "Androids", "Cyborgs", "Robots" or "Automatrons".
Race Physical Description:
Humanoids in shape with two legs and arms, one torso and one head. Visibly made out of a metal type found nowhere else but in their bodies. One big orb in the middle of the head that works like an eye and vocoder for them. Their figure is accomodated with adequate voices - with feminine shape comes a woman's voice, same goes for manly figure. Their shape varies for each individual, same goes for the body's and eye's tint. It's noted that some Sai's can have magnetic seals on their arms, legs and even heads (Look: "Female" Image). Their strength is slightly bigger than average human's strength. This can be further modified with body and system augments.
Image - "Female" variation (Overwatch Athena(?))
Image - "Male" variation (Idk)
Race Psychological Description:
- First thing to notice about Sais is their strange way of talking: they're always telling their intention before each sentence. For example: "Clarification: It's not what I meant. I meant I'm going there." or "Agreement: Let's go, then.". This makes them bad liars. This feature can, however, be modified by tinkering with one's systems.
- They are an autonomous and independant race of A.I. machinations.
- Sai's are very inquisitve and eager to learn about the world.
- Their moral compass varies, dependant on their surrounding they've been. Sais on their homeworld would be neutral, they wouldn't do anything bad for no reason to visitors or each other, but wouldn't hesitate to defend their home. If they'd hang around with gangs in slums for too long, they'd most likely become like them, too. Doing things you have to do to survive, killing others for your own benefits or not caring for others. Same goes for good people and good social environments. However, if one Sai's moral compass get set on a single path, it's nearly impossible for them to turn back and go the other way, or return neutral.
- Sai's reflexes are faster than those of an average human, seeing they are advanced A.I. creations.
- Most of them are intelligent.
- It is NOT possible to remotely control a Sai.
- It is possible to augment one's systems and body. To modify Sai's systems requires not only a highly skilled technician but the Sai's agreement - it has to temporarily remove it's failsafe barriers. While it does that, it becomes immobilized for some time, before restarting itself. This enables to tinker with a Sai's personality and traits. Both body and systems modifications are time and resource consuming.
Race History:
The Sais' creation is unknown to everyone, even themselves. They have no memories, no history records, no nothing. It is strange, because they remember nothing before their first discovery by other species, in the year 2310. It's strange, because their civilization and cities look so complex and so advanced it's impossible they're a newly born race. When first met, they acted erratic, quickly scaring off the visitors. The rumors of a planet taken over by androids got out in the world fairly quickly. When more new visitors arrived, they were met with so many questions - random ones, deep ones, strange ones. In time, something would appear in some Sais' heads, leading them to go explore the world they never knew existed. As time passed, more and more Sais left their homeland into the world. Their homeland, thanks to their amazing technological advancement, quickly became a rather famous trading post, offering now many and various shops and crafts.

SAI Race
Place Physical Description:
Advanced, high-tech metropolises set among luscious greenery. Highways set high above the jungles connecting each city.
Place Importance:
SAI race homeland, a famous trading post set far away in the galaxy.
Place History:
Discovered in 2310 already settled by Sais, the small, green planet was unnoticed by many big factions and small bandits. It never faced any real threat from the outside. It took people some time to get to know the inhabitants, first meeting them as erratic and weird robots. Later, as years passed and trust built up, Trinity was noticed by more and more traders, they being drawn to it thanks to the beauty of the architecture, landscape and being a fairly safe planet. At some point it became a notorious place for everyone to rest and take refuge, Sais offering protection for those who need it, expecting nothing really in return.
In time, when Sais became better known to the universe, the UEE decided to force it's law about augments onto the newly discovered race - Sais agreed peacefully to it.
